Alberto Reyes at Wigmore Hall
Some excerpts from Colin Clarke's review of Alberto Reyes at Wigmore Hall:
...a highly enjoyable concert by a musician who clearly hearkens back to the Golden Age of piano playing in the Romantic tradition.
His Bach/Liszt was grand and appropiately organ-like, confidently shaped and with textures laid bare.
Brahms' glowing Op. 10 Ballades... gorgeous, warm sound and well weighted chords in the First; continuing thorugh a perfectly autumnal second Ballade (which contained some ravishing dark sonorities);
...a Verdi/Liszt Rigoletto Paraphrase full of contrasts. The "Bella figlia d'amore"(sic) section was well projected, and filigree was all one could ask for.
